Katsuya

My mom came into town to help me move into my new place last month. Ofcourse, I had to take her to some well-known restaurants. Naturally, I took her to Katsuya (in Brentwood not Hollywood). The Hollywood Katsuya is definitely more for the younger crowd while the Brentwood location is more family oriented.

We decided to order the Katsuya Tasting Menu because we wanted to try all the signature dishes.

- Kobe Filet with Foie Gras
- Miso Marinated Black Cod
- Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno
- Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna
- Spicy Albacore Sashimi with Crispy Onion
- Creamy Rock Shrimp

I'm sure there was more but I really can't remember right now. My top choices were the creamy rock shrimp and the spicy albacore sashimi with crispy onion. The crispy rice with spicy tuna wasn't as great as I remembered.

We also got dessert which was mango mochi. Now, I'm Chinese so I get plenty of ice cream mochi from my local Chinese Supermarket freezer section. So this was clearly a disappointment. But they did display it quite nicely :)

Parking: Valet at the front or you can try to find meter parking nearby
