Osteria Mozza

Osteria Mozza
6602 Melrose Ave
Los Angeles, CA 90038

This restaurant is definitely expensive, but it's totally worth it! If you're unable to get a reservation, fear not. You can put your name down for a table at the Mozza Bar, which in my opinion is the best seat in the house. It's a huge square area in the middle of the restaurant where you can order from the same menu as everyone else. But, you're able to watch the chefs make their specialty mozzarella appetizers. It's definitely a fun time!

Things to order:
  • Anything from the Mozzarella appetizer menu...literally
  • Tagliatelle w/Oxtail Ragu
  • Maltagliati w/Wild Boar Ragu
  • Egg Raviolo

The next time I go, I'm definitely getting the Pasta Tasting Menu. You get to taste 9 of their best pastas for a relatively reasonable price.

Bru's Wiffle A Waffle Joint

Bru's Wiffle A Waffle Joint

I have never been a huge waffle fan. But Bru's turned me into a Believer.

I pass by this restaurant pretty much every weekend. And every weekend their is a long line. I finally decided to park my car and try it out....boy have I been missing out!

Anyways, they have every type of waffle "meal" imagineable..it's pretty ridiculous. Waffle Pizza, Waffle Meatball, Waffle PB&J, etc.

Things to Order:
  • Fried Chicken and Waffles - their specialty
  • Popeye Waffle
  • Crispy Chicken Bites with Lemon Garlic Potatoes

Tip: Call in and make a reservation before heading over so you don't have to wait as long. The place is very small

Crustacean

Crustacean
9646 S Santa Monica Blvd
Beverly Hills, CA 90210

Despite what the name sounds like, it's actually a Vietnamese restaurant. Albeit somewhat Americanized...it's still a great restaurant to try.

They are most famous for their garlic noodles. However, I love their garlic crab. I'm Asian, so I'm used to having to use my hands and crack crabs open. But at Crustacean, you can either select to get it whole (so you can crack it), Somewhat Cracked, or no shells. Definitely blew my mind the first time I read the menu.

It's a good place to try..but wouldn't go more than once or twice. I think you can get a better value elsewhere (aka not in Hollywood!)
